HISTORY

In the year 1990 Future Shock Recordings released the legendary album of Winter "Into Darkness". The cover was a picture of the bomb attack in WW II in 1942 in Murmansk. This album kept its unique style and impression until nowadays. It was the birth of ASKETIC. It took me a couple of years to think about the musical direction, the conceptual ideas and most important: Find someone else to create ASKETIC with the same approach and passion.

It was a very long search for the right person. Finally after 25 years I have found Morten C. Hack. We knew

each other for decades, but it was the year 2018 when ability, will, passion, time and spirit created the first tunes of ASKETIC. We both have pretty much the same picture in mind what we would like to do with ASKETIC. It is much easier to create music, when Morton is replacing a whole band. He is playing guitars, bass, drums, theremin, veena, and he is responsible for all compositions. I for myself write the lyrics, do all vocals, create all artwork, layout and graphics, homepage, and I made all videoclips for ASKETIC so far.

In the year 2022 we finally recorded our first EP at Goat Recordings. Vocals were recorded at hedgehog studio by Gregor Indergand. He made all the mixing and mastering. After a digital release on bandcamp we decided to release the songs on Digi-CD (limited edition of 300). In the meantime our contact with the Nihilistic Front was extremely close and there were some songs left, still unreleased. When we listened to these tracks for the first time it was clear that these recordings need to see the light of day on an official release. So we arranged the production of a limited split-LP with THE NIHILISTIC FRONT (limited gatefold-LP 200 items made). That was the start.

We are very happy with the new recordings we made in Spring 2024. We are going to release these songs as a Digi-CD in summer 2024. Once again a Goat Recording with additional recording of the vocals at hedgehog studio in Sursee. Gregor Indergand made a fantastic job with mixing and mastering our debut album.
